When re-elected, I pledge to continue my dedicated service to the students, parents, teachers and administrators of our schools. I will continue to:
§ Advocate for our students’ educational needs. The extraordinary achievements of our students inspire me to continue advocating for their educational needs by securing adequate funding through effective budget planning and resource allocations.
§ Support our school employees. The dedicated work performed daily by our teachers, staff, and administrators to educate our students encourages me to assist and support them to achieve more for our students in this challenging time and to advocate for affordable, balanced, and competitive compensation for our school employees.
§ Strengthen the link between School Committee and community. The passion and dedication of our parents and guardians to help with their children’s education and support our schools has been and will continue to be a key to our success. This communal support motivates me to strengthen the bond between the School Committee and our parent community with regular communication and personal interaction with the Parent Teacher Organizations and Special Education Parent Advisory Council.
§ Collaborate with other community leaders. Working with other elected and appointed officials throughout our community helps me appreciate the competing needs of other municipal functions. I believe I can leverage my deepened understandings and working relationships to balance the educational resource needs with other municipal services.
§ Promote respect and dialog among all stakeholders in the community. Serving on the School Committee allows me to appreciate the diverse viewpoints of many segments of the Acton community; I will continue my effort to advocate accountability and transparency of our efficiently run school districts and to balance the tax burden on our residents with the critical educational needs of our students.
